Dutch citizens are required to obtain Visa in order to travel into Vietnam. Vietnam has its embassies in about 70 countries across the world, including The Netherlands. Any Dutch citizen who wishes to travel to Vietnam can either obtain Visa prior to his travel by applying through the embassy or apply for Visa on Arrival. Both procedures are quite simple and any citizen of The Netherlands, who holds a valid and original passport, can apply for Visa. 

When applying through the embassy, you will be asked to fill the Visa application form in English. You will have to mention the place of collection and submission of the Visa as Vietnam. Once you have filled the form, you will have to submit it along with documents such as your original passport, one recent passport sized photograph and a self-addressed envelope. You will also have to pay the Visa fees, which can be paid in favor of the Embassy of Vietnam by way of money order or cashier’s cheque. Once you have submitted the documents and paid the fees, your documents will be forwarded ahead by the embassy for processing. The embassy will take about five working days to process your documents and issue you a fully stamped Visa. When applying for Visa, make sure that your passport has at least six months validity from the date of your departure from Vietnam.

Nepalese citizens who wish to visit Vietnam must obtain Visa. There are two simple ways in which a person can obtain Visa. They can either approach the embassy or fill up an online application form for Visa on Arrival. Nepal does not have an Embassy of Vietnam yet and hence Nepalese citizens who wish to get the Visa through the Embassy will have to travel to neighbouring countries such as India for applying for Visa. One of the most important formalities that you will need to fulfill in order to enter Vietnam is having a validated visa. It is applicable to residents of all the countries except those mentioned in the visa-exemption listing of countries that are allowed to visit Vietnam and stay there for a certain period of time without any visa. The updated exemption list as on 2013 is given as below:

1. The residents of Brunei who have a passport are allowed to stay in Vietnam for 14 days and less from the day they arrive at Vietnam. 

2. Passport holders of Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Laos are permitted to stay in Vietnam for 30 days and less from the day of their arrival.
