Vietnam has its embassies and diplomatic missions in about 70 countries, including Mozambique. The embassy can easily be approached for Visa applications. The embassy officials will take you through a step by step procedure for filling up the required forms, submission of relevant documents and payment of mandatory fees. While filling up the Visa application form through the embassy, you will have to fill up the form in English. You will also have to mention the place of collection and submission of fees as Vietnam. Along with the filled up form, you will have to submit a recent passport sized photograph, a self-addressed envelope and your original passport.

The fees can be paid in favour of the Embassy of Vietnam by way of money order or cashier’s cheque. Once the fees are paid, the documents will be submitted for processing. The embassy takes about five working days to process all your documents. Once the documents are processed, you will be issued your Visa in the self addressed envelope you had submitted.
When filling up the form through the embassy, you will have to make several visits. This can be a hassle if you are not residing in a location near the embassy. You will have to undertake travel to and from the location several times because this approach will require you to visit the embassy several times before the process is complete. Also, you will have to submit your original documents and there is a huge risk of losing your valuable documents in postal mail.
Hence, the Visa on Arrival procedure is the most preferred. To apply for Visa online, you will have to get in touch with a reliable travel agent. You will have to fill up an online application form with all your details such as name, occupation, purpose of visit, duration of stay, travel dates etc. This form will be submitted for processing. Once the form is processed, a letter of approval will be issued by the Immigration authorities. This letter can be collected by your travel agent and forwarded to you.
On reaching Vietnam, you can submit this letter of approval at the Visa on Arrival counter in the airport you arrive in. You will also have to submit the Visa stamping fees along with the letter to obtain your Visa. The Visa on Arrival scheme is available only to those who arrive in Vietnam by air.
