Ways to Get Visa Vietnam for Somalian Citizens

There're 2 ways to get visa for entering Vietnam : 1/ Apply visa at embassy & 2/ Apply online to get approval for getting visa on arrival Vietnam.

- Unfortunately, No embassy or consulate of Vietnam in Somalia & Embassy of Vietnam in Countries Close to Somalia if you want to go : Tanzania, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates & Qatar

- Best way for Somalian Citizens to get Vietnam visa without going to embassy : Apply for eVisa or visa on arrival Vietnam

Somalian citizens are required to obtain Visa if they wish to travel to Vietnam. Usually, there are two simple ways in which a foreign national can obtain Visa to Vietnam. He can either contact the Embassy of Vietnam in his country or apply for Visa on Arrival. Vietnam does not have an embassy in Somalia and so the process of application through the embassy is a little more complicated for Somalian citizens as compared to others.

• Apply through the embassy

Since Somalia does not have an Embassy of Vietnam, Somalian citizens who wish to apply for Visa through the embassy will have to get in touch with embassies in neighboring countries. If you are a Somalian citizen or a passport holder and wish to apply for Visa through an embassy, you will either have to personally visit the Embassy of Vietnam in a neighboring country or get in touch with the embassy officials over e-mail or telephone to enquire if the Visa application process can be facilitated over postal mail.

If you are ready to visit a neighboring country for the Visa application process, you will have to fill the Visa application at the embassy. Along with the duly filled form, you will be required to submit one recent passport sized photograph, a self-addressed envelope and your original passport. Make sure your passport has a validity of at least six months and a few blank pages for stamping purposes.

The embassy will take at least five days to process your documents. Once your documents are processed, you will receive a fully stamped Visa in the self-addressed envelope you had submitted. Although applying through the embassy allows you to get hold of a fully stamped Visa before your departure to Vietnam, this procedure will incur expenses in travel and stay.

If you decide to apply for Visa through correspondence, you will have to send in all your documents through postal mail. This is highly risky as you stand to lose your passport if there is misplacement of mail or loss of package in transit.

• Apply for Visa on Arrival

Visa on Arrival is a more convenient system as compared to the embassy method. To apply for Visa on Arrival, you will have to get in touch with a travel agent based in Vietnam. You will have to fill up an online application form which will require you to key in details such as your name, address, occupation, purpose of visit, duration of stay etc. While choosing your purpose of stay, you will be required to choose from options such as business, tourist and transit. A business Visa will come with a validity of one month, three months and six months. A tourist Visa will give you a validity of one month and transit Visa will give you validity of less than five days.

Once the form is filled, you will have to submit it for processing. Usually, online forms are processed in a couple of days, after which you will be issued a letter of approval. This letter of approval needs to be submitted at the Visa on Arrival counter of the Vietnamese airport you arrive in. You will also have to submit the Visa stamping fees along with the letter of approval to receive your Visa on Arrival.
