Ways to get visa Vietnam for Colombian citizen

There are two options through which you can get Vietnam visa :

  • Contact the embassy of Vietnam in your country to obtain visa before you arrive Vietnam. The procedures are quick and simple.
  • Obtain the letter of approval to pick up the visa upon arrival to Vietnam airport. 

1. Apply online 

a. At the arrival airport in Vietnam:

This is the fastest and easiest way for Colombian air travelers to be granted a Vietnam visa. 

To apply, follow the simple steps given below:

• Fill in required information.

• Make payment (for service fee) via PayPal, Western Union, Credit card, or Bank transfer.

• Receive your approval letter from the email within 1 working day (normal service) or within required time (often from 2 to 9 hours depending on how rush your visa is).

• When you arrive at a Vietnam international airport, present your passport, approval letter; pay stamping fee and 2 passport photos (2x2 inches or 4x6 cm) to get your Vietnam visa.

b. At the Vietnam embassy 

If you want to get your visa from the Vietnam embassy in a more rapidly way, you can simply apply online to get the approval letter, bring the letter to the Vietnam embassy, put forward the obligatory documents, pay stamping fee and get your Vietnam visa. 

Please take a note that this approval letter is not for those Colombian people who travel by sea to Vietnam.

2. Contact a Vietnam embassy (If Vietnam embassy is not present in Colombia then you can visit the closest country Panama to apply for visa).

You can visit Vietnam embassy.  In Colombia there is no Vietnam embassy, for this reason Columbian people have to visit Panama embassy to apply for visa. The visa procedure and visa fee may vary from embassy to embassy and it normally takes you at least 3 working days to get your Vietnam visa.

Points to remember

• A Colombian citizen before applying to Vietnam visa should ensure that his/her passport has minimum 6 month validity and left pages.

• Visa on “arrival option” is only valid for Colombian citizens traveling by air to Vietnam.

• “Visa code option” is valid for Colombia citizens travelling to Vietnam by air, land border or sea border.

Types of fee paid

You have to pay two types of fees to get a Vietnam Visa

1. Service fee

A Colombian person has to pay full service fee in advance to process the visa approval letter in-

• One working day (urgent service), or 

• Two working days (normal service), and

• Four working hours (super urgent service). 

2. Stamping fee

To get your visa stamped at Vietnam airports or at Vietnam Embassy, you can pay directly to Immigration Officers or Embassy by cash (in USD, VND or any currency at the local country you get visa) at the Immigration Counter.
