Does Belarus Citizens Need Visa for Entering Vietnam or Not?

Good news !!!! Citizens of Belarus will be exempted from time-limit visas into Vietnam as from July 1, 2015. The policy will be effective for five years from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2020.

Under a resolution just issued by Vietnam government, visitors from Belarus are allowed to enter and stay in Vietnam for up to 15 days without visas regardless of passport types and purpose of visit. Please note that, 30 days after exit Vietnam then you can re-enter with visa free policy, otherwise you need to apply for a visa.

Vietnam offers easy Visa application process for all foreign nationals who wish to travel to the country for trade or travel purposes. If you are a citizen of Belarus and wish to obtain Visa to Vietnam, you can either contact the Embassy of Vietnam in Belarus or apply for Visa on Arrival.

At the Embassy of Vietnam, you will be taken through a step-by-step procedure for filling up of necessary forms, submission of relevant documents and payment of mandatory fees. You will be required to fill up the Visa application form. Along with this form, you will have to submit a recent passport sized photograph, a self-addressed envelope and your original passport. Besides submitting these documents, you will also have to pay the Visa fees, which can be paid to the Embassy of Vietnam by way of money order or cashier’s cheque.

The embassy will take at least five working days to process your documents. After your documents are processed, you will sent a fully stamped Visa in the self-addressed envelope you had submitted. One of the major benefits of applying through the embassy is that you will get a fully stamped Visa in your hands before leaving for Vietnam. However, there are certain drawbacks of this system. You will have to visit the embassy several times as this procedure requires the applicant to pay multiple visits to the embassy before the procedure is complete. This can be a hassle if live in a city which is far away from the embassy location. Also, your documents will be forwarded ahead by postal mail, which means there are high chances of loss of documents in transit.

Visa on Arrival is a far more convenient process. In order to apply for Visa on Arrival, you will have to get in touch with a travel agent based in Vietnam. You will have to fill up an online application form on the travel agent’s website. You can pay the Visa fees and the travel agent’s services charges online too. You will have to enter details such as your name, occupation, date of travel, purpose of visit etc. when filling up the form. When filling up the purpose of visit, you will have to choose from business, tourist and transit.

A business Visa has a validity of one month, three months and six months. A tourist Visa has a validity of one month and transit Visa comes with a validity of less than five days. After your form is processed, you will be issued a letter of approval. This letter of approval can be collected by your travel agent and forwarded to you.

On reaching Vietnam, you will have to produce this letter of approval at the Visa on Arrival counter of the airport you arrive in. Along with the letter you will have to submit the Visa stamping fees to collect your Visa on Arrival.

The Visa on Arrival facility is available only to those travelers who arrive in Vietnam by air. For those taking land routes, it is mandatory that they carry all their documents while traveling with them. If you are traveling in a cruise ship, you can contact the cruise ship authorities for information on Visa on Arrival.
