Applying for a Visa at the Vietnam Embassy:

The Vietnam Embassy is located in Cankaya in the city of Ankara that is also the capital of Turkey. The embassy operates from Monday to Friday from morning 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and then from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The visa hours are from 9:00 am to 11:30 am only. In addition to the weekends, it also remains closed on the public holidays observed in Vietnam as well as in Turkey.

1) The process begins with an application form that you can obtain from the embassy website or collect from the embassy office. The form can be filled up manually or filled online and then printed.

2) Affix a latest color photo preferably of the dimension 4 cm by 6 cm or 3 cm by 4 cm. See for the specification mentioned in the form about the photo.

3) Make sure that your passport is valid and the validity lasts for a few months after the expiration of your visa. You will need to submit the original passport along with the form.

4) The next step is to make a payment to the embassy that will depend upon your visa type and duration of stay. This fee can be paid in cash or via check as well.

5) You may submit this form personally at the embassy or mail it to the embassy office if you are located far from Ankara.

6) The form will be scrutinized and on acceptance you visa request will be processed. The visa will be issued in the next 3 to 5 working days.

7) If you want the visa to be send to you via mail, check at the embassy if they accept pre paid envelopes for shipping of the visa.

8) This visa will hold well for any journey that you take (air, water, or land) to Vietnam.
