Citizens of Nepal or those who hold a Nepalese passport are required to obtain Visa in order to travel into Vietnam. Usually, there are two ways in which a foreign national from a non-Visa exempted country can obtain Visa. The first method is by filling in the application through the embassy and the second is through Visa on Arrival. So far, Nepal does not have an Embassy of Vietnam. So for Nepalese citizens who wish to approach an embassy for their application process, they will have to travel to a neighbouring country such as India for the application process.

The standard procedure requires an individual to either approach the embassy of Vietnam or fill up an online application for Visa on Arrival. Since Nepal does not have an Embassy of Vietnam, this can become a problem for many persons. In the absence of an embassy or consulate in a country, the citizens of the host country are required to travel to nearby countries to apply for Visa.
