Does US Citizen need Visa for entering Vietnam or not?

Citizens of the United States of America are required to obtain a Visa from the embassy of Vietnam or apply for Visa on Arrival if they wish to travel to Vietnam. Many countries have opened up their boundaries to travellers, tourists, businessmen etc in order to promote global relations, tourism, trade etc. To achieve this end, they have set up diplomatic missions in other countries.
